Ladki Bahin Yojana resumes with transfer of Rs 1,500 in saving accounts all Beneficiaries in Maharashtra

The Ladki Bahin Yojana, which provides qualified women in Maharashtra with monthly installments of Rs 1,500, resumed on Tuesday after a halt because of the model code of conduct that was in place during the state assembly elections. According to PTI, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare stated that the payments would be made in stages.

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana was introduced in 2024 with the goal of giving Maharashtra’s women financial support. In the most recent assembly elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition is credited with winning thanks in part to the plan. Under the direction of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Minister Tatkare voiced confidence in the scheme’s effective execution.
Beneficiary updates and the disbursement procedure
Aditi Thakare affirmed that the initial round of payments has started, encompassing roughly 12.87 lakh ladies who were still connected to Aadhaar. 2.34 crore women have currently benefited by the plan, and each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,500 over time. As more women sign up, the number of recipients will rise, and the procedure will be tracked.

A possible expansion of financial aid
The pledge made by previous Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to increase the monthly aid from Rs.1,500 to Rs 2,100 was also discussed by Mrs Thakare. According Aditi Thakare , the Chief Minister Fadnavis would decide on this hike in the upcoming state budget. Beneficiaries of the program will also be reviewed in light of grievances and comments.
