The BJP emerged as the dominant party with 132 seats, followed by Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena (57) and Ajit Pawar’s NCP (41). Meanwhile, the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered heavy losses, with Congress winning only 16 seats, Sharad Pawar’s NCP(SCP) securing 10, and Uddhav Thackeray’s faction (UBT) managing 20.
Despite Mahayuti’s victory, suspense surrounds the choice of the next CM. BJP leaders are rallying behind Devendra Fadnavis for his leadership, while Shinde’s supporters are pushing for his continuation. The decision remains pending, adding to the political drama following the elections.

Clarity on the new Chief Minister likely by tonight or tomorrow morning, says Shiv Sena leader
Amid suspense over who will be Maharashtra’s next Chief Minister, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat has stated that clarity on the matter is expected by tonight or tomorrow morning.
Shiv Sena spokesperson mentioned that Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar will consult with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior BJP leaders to decide on the Chief Minister’s post.
“The three leaders (Shinde, Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar) will meet in the evening and take an appropriate decision. The announcement is likely to be made by these leaders to the media tonight or Wednesday morning,” Mr. Shirsat told reporters
